#1. CSAMM for Tank Urban Combat.
"More Machineguns is Better"
The Counter-Sniper/Anti-Materiel Mount (CSAMM) is a heavy, tank-appended mount for the Browning, M2HB machinegun. The CSAMM Mount can be easily adapted accept the M240 machinegun. CSAMM provides tank crews with additional machinegun firepower demanded in the Urban Combat environment. CSAMM enables tank crews to engage enemy snipers, RPG Teams, IEDS/VBIEDS or other enemy targets up close or out to 2000 meters, with the Caliber .50, using the tank's fire control system (FCS). CSAMM provides tank crews a means to destroy point and area targets in urban areas while reducing collateral damage. With CSAMM, the rate of fire for the M2HB, Cal .50 machinegun, is controlled by the GUNMASTERS' Rate of Fire System (RFS). The RFS allows the Tank Commander (TC) or Gunner (GNR) to arm the CSAMM weapon system and to select single shot or full automatic fire for effective target servicing. The system allows the main gun or the 7.62mm coax to be fired simultaneously with the M2HB mounted on the CSAMM, placing a very high volume of fire on tough targets.
With CSAMM, the Caliber .50 on the Abrams tank can be fired with precision accuracy during limited visibility or at night.

#2. CSAMM for Tank Urban Combat Training.
In the MOUT/Urban Gunnery Training Mode, CSAMM can be used with the M2HB, Cal.50 Machinegun, M3 Barrel Recoil Amplifier [NSN: 1005-01-323-5406], DVC 07-63, and Cal .50, Plastic, Short Range Training Ammunition (SRTA) [DODIC: A602, 4-M858 BALL/1-M860 TRACER]. Using SRTA, tank crews can readily utilize the CSAMM in it's intended role as a Counter-Sniper/Anti-Materiel Weapon at many MOUT training sites without significant damage to the buildings and facilities. CSAMM can also double as a main gun sub-caliber device by firing in the single shot mode. CSAMM's use in Tank Urban Combat Training greatly enhances realism for the tank crews as they train the way they will fight (with real bullets).
